Guard and Protect Your Heart

Over half a million lives are affected each year by heart disease. Did you know 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with a heart condition each year? While these statistics may seem shocking, they resonate with millions of men and women around the United States. This month, Brittany Boutique has had the opportunity to bring awareness and support for this deadly disease. During this month, we learned how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle and how to live each day like it’s your last.

This past month, we have had the opportunity to sit down with seven women whose lives have been touched by heart disease. We have shared their individual stories in hopes to raise awareness for the fact that heart disease is all around us. We laughed and cried with these women who have been so brave as to share their story. And it was our privilege to share them with you.

One of the most common themes of each women’s story was the importance of never giving up. Whether it be committing to walk more, eat healthier, or being consistent in attending cardiac rehab- recovery is never easy. Being diagnosed with a heart condition is a complete lifestyle change. You have to take more time to rest (no matter how busy your life may be) and you have to take care of yourself!

What a thought! Self care and relaxation. Is this a dream? Are we actually telling you to slow down and learn the art of saying no? Yes, in fact, we are. We are encouraging you to live each day as if it could be your last. According to the American Heart Association, symptoms of depression are 3 times more likely in people who have heart disease.

By taking time for yourself, and building up your mental and physical strength, you can do anything your heart is desiring. Wanting to run around with your sweet grandbabies? Looking to take that once in a life trip? It’s so important to find your purpose and pursue it.  Big or small goals- we’re here to cheer you on, ladies!

The most meaningful thing that these women’s stories have shown us is that LIFE IS PRECIOUS! We should strive to guard and protect your heart physically, mentally, and emotionally because it’s the only one we’ve got. No matter how hard it may get or now long the process can feel, we’re here to encourage you to live your best life because girl, you are so worth it!
